Don't let my friendly picture with Buddy the baby T-Rex and my friend James at the recent PGA screening at the Egyptian fool you. A full grown tyrannosaurus rex was a truly gigantic creature. The footprints alone were over 1.55 feet long (although the feet were much longer--closer to 3.3 feet since t-rexes apparently twinkled around on their tippy toes.). And the T-rex's skull was an astonishing 5 feet long. Here's the rest of the stats:
Height: 15-20 ft.
Length: Up to 40 ft.
Stride length: 15-20 ft.
Weight: 4-8 tons
Conclusions: A) I don't want to meet a real one of these things in the flesh, ever. B) An adult T-rex weighs more than me.

A recent promotion hosted by IHG to celebrate a free hotel room giveaway featured the "World's Largest Bed Jump." With over 20,000 participants bouncing in four different cities in 4 separate countries, (Shanghai, New York, London and Paris) this was clearly more than your average adolescent pillow fight. And the centerpiece of this promotion? Four absolutely humongous beds. Here's the Stats:
Bed Dimensions: 42 feet x 28 feet
Mattresses: 30 double mattresses
Duvet: Large enough to cover 65 regular double beds
- 6 tons of steel
- 2,200 pounds of wood
- Over 200,000 nuts and bolts
Conclusion: Those really, really big beds weigh more than me.

No, I'm not talking about the little girl with the pink prairie hat. I'm talking shortcake baby, I mean a big one. Specifically, the world's largest strawberry cake.
Apparently in 2005, the largest fruit shortcake ever was baked in La Trinidad. This sweet, strawberry behemoth apparently fed 42,080 people at the town's 4th annual Strawberry Cake Festival in the Philippines. Here's the stats:
Shape: Giant Strawberry
Height: 8 ft.
Length: 12 ft.
Width: 9 ft.
Ingredients: 1082.5 pounds of butter, 2128.5 pounds of strawberry preserves and 5170 pounds of strawberries.
Total weight: 21,120 lbs.
Conclusion: The world's largest shortcake weighs more than me.

Located in Strawberry Point in Iowa (where all the big fiberglass veggies live) is the world's largest strawberry. The giant berry was apparently built in 1968 by F. Hardie Advertising in Dubuque, IA.
Here's the Stats:
Size: 15 ft x 12 ft
Conclusion: The world's biggest strawberry weighs more than me.
